Victorville in California
Ugh, Im honestly done with Victorville. Seriously, 121,901 people? In 2014? Thats not even a blip on the radar of Californias sprawling metropolises, but to me? Its a whole damn desert town with a soul thats been slowly, painfully, evaporating under the sun. Ive lived here long enough to know the truth this place isnt a college town or whatever they want to call it. Its a quiet, beige, suburban wasteland where the only education youll find is how to water your lawn with the minimum amount of water, and still watch it turn brown faster than you can say Victor Valley College. Westech? Victor Valley Beauty College? Please. Theyre not universities, theyre vocational speed bumps. Ive seen kids walk out of those places with diplomas and no idea how to survive a 90-degree day without a car. The houses? Yeah, theyre pretty. Theyre beige, theyre tiled, theyre perfectly landscaped with fake grass thats probably dying. But underneath it all? Its a quiet, dry, slightly depressing town thats slowly becoming a forgotten ghost town. And Im not the only one whos noticed. Im just the one whos tired of pretending that this isnt just a desert town with a bunch of colleges that dont actually matter. Im done with Victorville. Im done with the beige, Im done with the heat, Im done with the quiet. Im done with the whole damn thing.

Victorville's got $20M to fix sidewalks, but can't afford a single shade tree? Let's see if they'll plant Pride in the desert or just keep watering fake grass #VictorvilleSaves #PrideInPlaceButNotInTheHeat
